Trip Notes – Bhutan

The heart of Bhutan is something so special that once discovered, it can never be forgotten.

There is something indescribable about the nature of the people. Travel to Bhutan is much more than the vast, stunning landscapes. In fact, it is easy to say that the people of Bhutan are truly their own kind. Get to know them, and you will learn another way of how to approach life.

With our small group travel tours, you have the opportunity to meet the people who honor their spirituality by always keeping an open mind. We’ll hike to enchanted monasteries in the mountains, and feel the deeply rooted spirituality that Bhutan inspires.

It is also easy to get lost in the light-hearted attitude that the people of Bhutan embody and the humor that they share. Bhutan travel with Hinoki means making new friends to last a lifetime.

When we were in Bhutan last year, we asked our hosts, ‘what does reverence for nature mean to you?’ Aug Sangay and Aum Rinzin, owners and stewards of Dhumra Farm, responded:

“There is this belief that we share the planet with beings (both creatures & spirits) such as those in the sky, clouds, space in between, and in the forests and ground… we have rituals to honor the forces in these five realms. We have a saying, “Keen namkhai jha yang kor, dur na chengi bhu yang pang,” literally meaning: if a peaceful attitude is practiced then even wild birds will flock around you.”

On our reverence trip to Bhutan in late 2024, Nickie reflected on her experience:

”This was such an incredible trip. Bhutan is majestic and filled with such warm and genuine people. Exploring sacred spaces and the culture and traditions of Bhutan and its people was truly magical. It was the most present I have been for that stretch of time, what a gift. Being able to explore reverence in a deeply spiritual place with a group of heart centered people is unforgettable and will resonate with me forever. So much gratitude for Hinoki Travels, Bethany, and our guides Kuenga and Kencho.”

Our next trip will take place December 6-15th, 2025. We will explore the theme of Reverence as a group during this Bhutan tour. Learn about the profound respect and appreciation the Bhutanese have for all life, and how to apply it to your own life.

Registration closes on October 3rd. Do not miss your chance to join us on this incredible journey: https://www.hinokitravels.com/destinations/bhutan/
